ITV Global Entertainment Acquires Wide-Eyed Entertainment's 'We'rewolves'

ITV Global Entertainment Ltd today announces its acquisition of international distribution rights to the ground-breaking television drama We’rewolves, created by new independent production company, Wide-Eyed Entertainment (WEE).
Created by Jasper James (Prehistoric Park) and David McNab (Shadow of the Moon), the feature-length (90 minutes) special begins with the discovery of a mutilated body in the wilds of the Great Lakes. The trail left by the attacker leads the investigating detective into a complex twilight world inhabited by a shocking sub-species of human.
Fearing a dangerous animal is at large; Detective Jack Breedlove calls in the help of expert zoologist, Ivy Carter. Together they enter a maelstrom of fear and confusion when they discover their prey is neither animal nor human, but one of nature’s most terrifying mythological creatures; the Werewolf. The film cunningly combines real science, documentary and surveillance style cinematography and ingenious special effects, with a gripping, high-tension script that will hook audiences.
Emmanuelle Namiech, Director of Co-productions and Acquisitions at ITV Global Entertainment said, “We’rewolves is something unique combining the very best in special effects, factual research and direction, with chilling ‘what if’ fantasy. This is a great example of a show with true universal appeal as it combines fact with fiction seamlessly. We’re very proud to be working with Jasper and the team at Wide-Eyed Entertainment, in taking this to the worldwide audiences.”
Jasper James, CEO, WEE and creator of We’rewolves, added, “We’rewolves is a show that reflects its subject. Nothing is what it seems – on the outside it appears to be an ordinary murder doc, but within beats the heart of a full-blooded drama – a hairy, nail-biting savage with a faint, but unmistakable whiff of Oscar about it. With ITV Global, our little monster is in great hands.”
The distribution deal, which excludes US, was brokered by Parule Basu-Barua for Wide-Eyed Entertainment and Noel Hedges for ITV Global Entertainment. In a previous deal by WEE, the show has been commissioned by Animal Planet in the US
